What is closego

What is closego and who is it for?
closego is a closing management platform for business groups with multiple companies. It's designed for finance and accounting teams who need to coordinate the monthly close across departments and entities, with full traceability of every task.
What size company is closego right for?
From groups with 2–3 entities to holdings with dozens of companies. The Starter plan is designed for small groups, Professional for growing accounting teams, and Enterprise for large groups with custom needs.
Do I need to be an accountant to use closego?
Not necessarily, but the platform uses the language of accounting close: checklists, reconciliations, closing periods, department assignments, etc. The learning curve is very short β€” most teams are up and running on day one.
What makes closego different from a shared spreadsheet?
Several key things: real-time visibility of each task's status across every entity, full traceability of who did what and when, automatic notifications, task-level organized attachments, and integrated accounting reconciliations. A spreadsheet doesn't scale well with multiple departments or multiple concurrent users.

Features

What are closing checklists?
Structured task lists organized by department for each closing period. Each task can have an assigned owner, attachments, notes, comments, and a status (pending, in progress, blocked, completed). Created once, automatically replicated each monthly close.
How does the reconciliation module work?
Each department has an assigned catalog of accounting accounts. At each close, closego automatically generates a reconciliation sheet per department. Each account can be marked as reconciled, pending, or not applicable, with comments and GL/SL differences imported from your ERP.
Can I import the chart of accounts from my ERP?
Yes. closego integrates with Microsoft Business Central via OData v4. You can import the chart of accounts directly and set up balance sync to see GL/SL differences in real time within reconciliations.
What integrations are available?
closego currently integrates with Microsoft Business Central (chart of accounts, GL/SL balances) and Cloudflare R2 / S3-compatible storage for attachments. We're working on integrations with other ERPs. Contact us if you have a specific ERP in mind.
Can I attach documents to tasks?
Yes. Each task supports file attachments (PDF, images, Excel, Word) up to 10 MB per file. Files are stored securely in the cloud and linked to the specific task, not generic folders.
Are there notifications when someone completes a task?
Yes. closego includes an in-app and email notification system. You can receive alerts when: you're assigned a task, someone mentions you in a comment, a task changes status, or you're added to a department or company. Each user can configure which notifications they receive and through which channel.
Is there a global close status dashboard?
Yes. The closing control dashboard shows real-time progress by company, department, and task. It updates automatically via Server-Sent Events (SSE) β€” no page reload needed.
Can multiple users work simultaneously?
Yes. Task status changes, assignments, and comments are reflected in real time for all users connected to the same close. No edit conflicts, no need to refresh.

Users & permissions

Can I have different roles for different users?
Yes. closego includes a granular role and permission system. You can define roles like Administrator, CFO, Accountant, or External consultant, and control exactly what each person can see and do: which companies, which departments, which actions.
Can I give access to external auditors or consultants?
Yes. You can invite external users with limited roles (read-only, or access to specific departments). The auditor sees only what they need, without accessing configuration or other group companies.
How is multi-company access managed?
Each user can be assigned to one or more companies in the group. In the platform, the user only sees the companies they have access to. The group administrator controls these assignments from the configuration panel.
Is there a user limit?
It depends on the plan. The Starter plan includes a maximum number of active users; Professional and Enterprise have higher or unlimited limits. You can check exact limits on the pricing page.

Security & data

Where is my data stored?
Data is stored on servers within the European Union, complying with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Attachments are stored in encrypted cloud storage (Cloudflare R2 or another S3-compatible provider depending on your plan).
Is closego GDPR compliant?
Yes. closego is designed with privacy by default. Each organization (tenant) is completely isolated from others. You can export and delete all your data at any time. We process data as a data processor under each customer's instructions.
How are passwords and access protected?
Passwords are stored using bcrypt (hash+salt). Authentication uses JWT tokens with short expiration (15 minutes) and 7-day refresh tokens stored in HttpOnly cookies β€” not accessible from JavaScript. All requests are protected against CSRF.
Is there isolation between organizations?
Yes. closego is a multi-tenant platform where each organization has its own subdomain and data is completely isolated at the database level. It's not possible for one tenant to access another's data.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
You have 30 days from cancellation to export all your data. After that period, data is permanently deleted in accordance with our GDPR policy. We never sell or share data with third parties.

Plans & pricing

Is there a free trial period?
Yes. The Starter plan includes a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. For Professional and Enterprise plans we offer a guided 30-minute demo with your real use case.
Can I change plans at any time?
Yes. Upgrading takes effect immediately. Downgrading applies at the start of the next billing period.
Is there a discount for annual billing?
Yes. The Starter and Professional plans have a 20% discount when billed annually. The savings are shown automatically on the pricing page.
What does the Enterprise plan include?
The Enterprise plan is fully custom: unlimited users and companies, priority SLA support, custom ERP integration, guided onboarding, and a service contract. Contact us for a proposal.
Are there setup or onboarding fees?
No. Basic onboarding (account creation, checklist setup, account import) is self-service and included in all plans. For large groups with special requirements, the Enterprise plan includes guided onboarding from our team.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes, no minimum commitment. You can cancel your subscription from the administration panel or by contacting our team. There are no penalties for early cancellation.

How does customer support work?
All plans include email support. Typical response time is under 24 business hours. The Enterprise plan includes priority support with a guaranteed SLA and a dedicated account manager.
How long does it take to set up closego?
Basic setup β€” creating the organization, adding companies, inviting the team, and creating the first checklists β€” takes 30 to 60 minutes. If you import the chart of accounts from your ERP, add another 15–20 minutes.
Do you offer team training?
Yes. In addition to online documentation, we offer online training sessions for teams. For Enterprise plans, initial training is included. For other plans, it can be requested as an additional service.
Can I migrate data from another system?
It depends on the source. If you have checklists in Excel or another tool, we can help you structure them in closego. Contact our team and we'll assess your situation with no obligation.
Is there documentation or usage guides?
Yes. We have an online knowledge base with step-by-step guides, feature videos, and answers to the most frequently asked questions. We also publish release notes with each update.
